I was asked to help courier (chaperone) the College's Wales trip this weekend. We left on Friday, 18 March and returned on Sunday. The trip included a stop in Chester, England. This beautiful city has deep roots from the Roman occupation and includes the ruins of a colosseum and the original protective walls surrounding almost the entire city center. Remains of Roman baths and gardens are found on one edge of the city, near the river.
When we left the coach stop, we were near the colosseum and there were several school trips there with elementary-aged school children. They were in groups of about ten to fifteen, carrying shields and following a fully-outfitted gladiator who then began leading them along the city streets chanting Roman sayings - sooo cute!
